Graham Potter’s first Chelsea line up is missing two major summer signings. Kalidou Koulibaly and Wesley Fofana were signed to be the heart of this team’s defence going forward, and yet both have been dumped out of the team tonight.

We’re not quite sure what Potter does have in mind, but it’s a bold decision, as Clinton Morrison has just pointed out on Sky Sports.

“He’s made a statement, I am surprised,” he mused on the match coverage in the studio. He doesn’t sound convinced, but the proof will be in the pudding.
