The last 991.2, version of the 911 GTS was the first turbocharged GTS. The 2022 model year continues the tradition, but unfortunately there is only a 30 horsepower difference in between the two generations. TechArt decided to solve that problem and created a package that will make the 911 GTS more powerful, more dynamic, and more individual.
The 2022 911 GTS is powered by a 3.0-liter, twin-turbo, flat-six engine that delivers a total of 480 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. While this may sound like a lot, it is still only 30 horsepower over the previous 991.2 911 GTS and only 37 horsepower more than the 911 Carrera S. But TechArt found a solution to take these numbers to an all-new level. The tuner offers a Powerkit that can only be activated in Sport and Sport Plus mode. When one of those modes are activated, it delivers an impressive 560 horsepower and 494 pound-feet of torque. In normal mode, the TechArt 911 GTS delivers the same amount of power as the base model.
With the extra 80 horsepower, the 911 GTS goes from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds - 0.3 seconds faster than the series vehicle. Top speed is increased to 199 mph - up from 193 mph.
TechArt is also updating the exterior look of the 911 GTS. But that’s not surprising considering it did the same with all the other packages it offered. Exterior upgrades include a new front spoiler, air outlet grille, splitter and covers, side skirts and rear diffuser add-on. There is also a new carbon-fiber front lid that is 2.5 kilos lighter than the standard hood. It can be had with or without integrated air shafts. In order to make the rear even more aggressive, TechArt is offering two rear spoiler variants: a fixed one or one with an aerodynamic spoiler lip.
There are a few wheel options to choose from too. As a standard feature, the model is offered with TechArt Formula VII central lock wheels, sized 9 x 20 inches on the front axle and 11.5 x 21 inches on the rear axle. But as an option, you can also go for the popular Daytona II and Formula V wheel designs. A wide range of colors and surfaces is also offered. The upgrade package also includes an adjustable coilover spring set that can lower the car’s ride by anywhere between 15 to 40 millimeters (0.50 to 1.57 inches).
When it comes to interior updates, the sky is the limit. you can trim the seats, the dashboard, the headliner, the floor mats, or the door panels in anything ranging from traditional heritage fabrics to leather and Alcantara, in every possible color. Carbon fiber is also part of the options list.
The steering wheel features segments from leather and Alcantara and can be combined with carbon trims, piping, decorative stitching, and various perforations. TechArt is also offering a roll bar built according to the current FIA regulations. It offers both a sporty look, but also adds additional safety. And speaking of safety, the seats are equipped with six-point racing harnesses.
